Witness to testify despite Saddam trial adjournment

Key prosecution witness Wadah Ismael Al-Sheik, a former Iraqi intelligence official linked to the 1982 Dujail massacre, will testify at a Sunday deposition at a U S detention center near Baghdad airport while ill with cancer. The session does not reconvene the full trial.

Masked gunmen abduct Saddam co-defendant lawyer in Iraq

Ten masked gunmen grabbed Saadoun Sughaiyer al-Janabi outside Baghdad and dragged him from his office as Saddam Hussein and seven Baath Party officials face trial for the 1982 Dujail massacre. Al-Janabi was serving as one of two lawyers for Awad Hamed al-Bandar, a former head of the Revolutionary Court, accused of ordering executions.
