Nun Donates Million Lottery Prize To Order

Sister Josephine Contris of Mount Alverno Convent Redwood City won a $1 million California lottery jackpot. She donated the prize to the Sisters of Saint Francis for retirement and work with the poor, saying the community will benefit. The 71 year old nun, who has taught in multiple states, called the win a first class miracle. The ceremony was supported by fellow nuns at the Marian Residence in San Maria.
