Stolen cash chainsaws and fireworks reported countywide
Multiple thefts across Aiken County include cash boxes and $10 in cash from the Aiken County Recreation Center. Fireworks and a 12 inch television were taken from a Clearwater store. Two chain saws were stolen from a Storm Branch Road residence. A camper at the Jaycee Fairgrounds reported $2,425 missing. Guns and jewelry were taken from a Morgan Street home. The incident remains under investigation. Also report on statewide voter registration decline ahead of 1988 primaries. Black registration fell more than white in the period.
