Federal court shelves Georgia voter ID law
A federal judge blocked Georgia from enforcing photo ID requirements for voting as unconstitutional and an undue burden. The 123 page ruling found the law would deter elderly, poor and African American voters and likely impact Nov elections held without photo ID. Civil rights groups and others praised the decision while supporters vow to appeal.
