I Know What You Did Last Summer reviewed in lampooning era
A malevolent teen duo theme echoes Scream but with any punch dulled. The film centers on Jennifer Love Hewitt Sarah Michelle Gellar Ryan Phillippe and Freddie Prinze Jr as stylish youths who kill a man and forget, only to be haunted a year later by notes claiming I know what you did last summer. The dark girl Hewitt impresses while Gellar disappoints with thin dialogue and overexposed fright scenes.
