Hidden images on stamps fascinate collectors via new decoders
The U S Postal Service sells a $4.95 decoder lens that reveals hidden images on select stamps to deter counterfeiting. The first hidden image appeared on the 32 cent USAF stamp issued in September, with 1998 plans for more issues. Some stamps from the five stamp movie monsters set also hide ghostly faces when viewed at a tilt. Decoders available from the Philatelic Fulfillment Service Center in Kansas City or by phone.
