Big Chevrolet Foundry at Saginaw Michigan
Saginaw Michigan emerges as a major industrial center with Chevrolet Foundry expansion plans. By next year a 2000 ton per day capacity and a new inland dock are to be added, nearly doubling floor space. The plant, originally the Saginaw Foundry, is part of General Motors, with upgrades under foreman Arnold Lenz.

South Dakota Lands Funded for School Needs
Forty years ago South Dakota adopted legislation setting minimum land sale prices at ten dollars per acre for school lands. The state department oversees assets totaling 21,923,277 dollars generating more than 1,000,000 dollars annually for improvements to common schools, penal and charitable institutions, with distributions to schools once yearly or quarterly for libraries and other purposes.
