Diamond Ring Found in Dana Point Sewer Up for Auction
A 3.78 carat combined engagement and wedding ring worth about $26,000, retrieved by Milton Tobar from a sewer manhole in Niguel Shores in July 2004, goes to Swiss Connection in Dana Point for auction with a $12,000 starting bid. Proceeds may fund the South Coast Water District's general revenue or scholarship program. Tobar will receive 15 percent of the sale as part of the WIN Award. the district holds ownership after sewer disposal.
