Charleston airmen drop meals to Afghanistan Amid Ramadan relief effort
Charleston based reservists from the 315th Airlift Wing augment the 437th Wing in Afghanistan delivering about 37,000 meals per mission from Ramstein. Ten airmen fly C-17s with a 10 person crew, dropping vegetarian packets labeled From the people of the United States of America. The drops occur at undisclosed locations as winter nears. Some critics question the humanitarian impact.
