Speeding in 45 zone prompts questions on enforcement
A reader recalls being clocked at 62 mph in a 45 zone and cites others who had their tickets reduced to 54 mph. The letter asks if there is an internal threshold at 60 mph or a dividing line guiding such reductions, and references traffic, local facilities, and community concerns.

Former Clemson AD answers hazing suit over 2011 incident
In Anderson federal court on September 26, former Clemson athletic director Terry Don Phillips and associates Kyle Young and Marvin Carmichael submitted answers to a civil complaint filed by Haley Ellen Hunt. The suit accuses the Clemson administration and coaching staff of a hazing ritual that left Hunt with severe injuries, including a traumatic brain injury, during 2011 at Clemson's soccer stadium. Hunt seeks damages for pain, medical costs, impaired education, and punitive damages while the defendants deny malice and assert various defenses. A separate notice dismissed claims against ten administrative employees unnamed in the suit. Hunt, a 2011 Aiken High School graduate and Clemson bioengineering student, was a four-year starter for the team.
