Bachelor star visits Aiken for plant tour and autographs

Torch spark causes small fire at SRS during pipe cutting
A small fire broke out Monday at Savannah River Site during prep work for demolishing Building 322-M. Spokesperson Fran Poda said hot slag from a cutting torch contacted a combustible material outside the structure and a fire watcher, with a fire department response of six minutes, kept the blaze from spreading as crews checked for re ignition.

EEOC Finds Weston Medical Center Discriminated in Firing Doctor
The EEOC ruled Weston Medical Center discriminated against Dr. Thomas A. Moore in his firing as medical director on April 22 2002. Moore was escorted from the building by deputies and later opened a private practice in Aiken. The center, serving a minority population, replaced him with an African American. The case proceeds alongside a civil suit set for November 10 in Aiken County court.
