Aiken County man Norman Jessie Fields, 19, formerly of Groverville, GA, was sentenced in General Sessions Court to life in prison plus 25 years for the June 19 murder of Corley Weatherford and armed robbery in the Weatherford store on Silver Bluff Road. The case featured evidence of a .38 pistol and a 22 rifle recovered from a pawn shop, with Weatherford's store serving as a community meeting spot.
