Jury grants death penalty to killer in Ga. slaying
In Americus, Daniel Colwell, 37, was sentenced to die by electric chair after jurors found him guilty of fatally shooting Mitchell and Judith Bell in a store parking lot to provoke a death sentence. Colwell, a paranoid schizophrenic, smiled as the verdict showed the judge must follow the jury. He warned jurors he might return to kill them if not executed.
