Drivers warned to be wary of deer in peak season

National figures show about 1.5 million deer vehicle collisions yearly with 150 deaths and 1.1 billion in property damage. In South Carolina 1560 crashes were reported in 2006, mostly in October and November near dawn and dusk. No compensation is available for motorist injuries or damages from deer collisions.
