County OKs health plan changes for Aiken workers

Aiken County Council approved changes to the Basic Blue Cross plan raising deductibles from 1250 to 2000 dollars and 2500 to 4000 for families and increasing the ER co pay to 250 dollars. A tobacco surcharge rises from 60 to 100 dollars monthly with potential tobacco use testing. The measure aims to lower 2018 premium increases from 16 to 12.8 percent.

Pumpkins Fill St. Bart's Patch in North Augusta

St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church at 471 West Martintown Road hosts its pumpkin patch through October 28 or while supplies last. More than 5 000 pumpkins gourds and mini pumpkins arrived from Cotton Hill Farms Lowrys Chester County. Proceeds support local mission projects and groups visit with story time offers each child a mini pumpkin.
