Sassafras Festival Resumes After Rain Delays In Burnettown
Burnettown’s Sassafras Festival recovered from morning storms that reduced turnout. Vendors fell from 80 signups to five remaining by opening, eight more arrived after clearing skies. About 400-500 attendees gathered by 2 p.m., with past crowds near 3,000 to 4,000, as rides, food, and crafts continued despite setbacks. Plans for a splash pad next year were announced by Mayor Jonathan Dicks, though no completion date was set.
