Democrats gear up for annual Aiken fish fry fundraiser
The Aiken County Democratic Party hosts its fifth annual fish fry at the Shrine Club on 1526 Columbia Highway from 6 to 9 pm. State, county, and local candidates will attend to answer questions, with tickets 15 in advance or 20 at the door, kids 10, and entertainment by the Freedom Singers.

Uganda Spirit set to unveil in Aiken this October
Four Aiken residents founded Uganda Spirit in 2006 to relieve human misery in Uganda. The charity will unveil at a 3 pm Sunday reception October 14 at 413 Hayne Ave. The group supports Father Charles Kawesi and Ugandan orphans, aiming to fund skills training and relief efforts.
