The hurricane struck Haiti with 145 mph winds causing at least 470 deaths in a hard hit district. Evacuations affected about 2 million along the Southeast as Matthew moved along the coast. Savannah Charleston Hilton Head Tybee and St Augustine faced record flooding and power outages with at least 4 deaths in the region. CoreLogic estimates insured losses at 4 to 6 billion dollars.
