Whiskey Road Change Recommendations for Minor Improvements
The SCDHPT will propose modest non capital improvements to Whiskey Road at a 10:30 a.m. Thursday ARTS committee meeting in Augusta the plan aims to speed traffic flow without major changes. In June a public hearing informed the committee which will consider funding changes to the ARTS program for these minor upgrades between South Boundary and SC 302 involving signals or signs.

Massive Cablevision changes promise better service for Aiken
Walter Payne of First Carolina Communications told the Aiken City Council that the cable system has undergone massive changes in operations staffing channels structure billing and computerization. He expects technical problems to be fixed within a month and about 25 miles of cable extended into Houndslake Southwood Kalmia Landing and surrounding streets. Aiken residents will have new subscription opportunities within two months.

Aiken County moves to turn the Langley landfill into a methane gas energy source with J.M. Huber Corp and James H. Carr and Associates testing wells to assess gas quantity and quality.
