Aiken prepares for 2000 celebrations with a Renaissance Festival Medieval Banquet on January 21 and 23 at the Green Boundary Club. Four Italian chefs from Aiken’s sister city will prepare the meal served in wooden bowls with costumed servers.
Paul Clayton of Aiken Public Works built a mock obelisk for the time capsule. The real obelisk and capsule debut are planned for April 2000. The display in the Municipal Building accompanies a meeting update from Mac McClearen on the railroad depot project.
