Suspect in assault arrested in Beech Island home

James R. Ray 27 of Jackson was arrested after a three hour search following a shoplifting report at an Aiken grocery store. A second suspect, described as white male with brown hair and mustache, fled the scene. deputy was not injured. Ray faces assault and battery and resisting arrest charges and is held at the Aiken County Detention Center.Officials ask anyone with information to call the ACSO at 642-1761 or 1-800-922-3211.
