Government statistics show hospitalizations fell to 148 per 1000 Americans last year, the lowest since 1971. Officials cite more outpatient services and the Diagnosis Related Group payment method as key causes for the drop.
In Largo Florida an 85 year old man was robbed by a knife wielding pickpocket who pulled from the victim’s back pocket and fled in another car. The burglar left with a copy of the New Testament and the victim wished him luck reading it. Police officer Robert McMurray investigated and did not identify the victim.
Forecast calls for fair skies today with a 70 percent chance of showers tonight and a low in the mid 60s. Skies stay mostly cloudy tomorrow with a 50 percent chance of thundershowers and a mid 70s high. Details on Page 2B.
