The Sixth Amendment guarantees a public trial by an impartial jury. In Aiken County, the Clerk of Court says juror pools are enlarged for capital murder cases, with about 200 jurors summoned weekly and a 30 day lead time before term. Savannah River Site Heritage Center to open in Aiken

The Savannah River Site Heritage Center is planned as part of the Aiken Together campaign to fund the Center for African American History Art and Culture the Aiken Visitors Center and Train Museum and the heritage center. Chaired by Dwayne Wilson the project will be housed in downtown Aiken featuring a timeline videos photos and interactive exhibits detailing the Site legacy and its impact on the community.

USC Aiken student studies tie probabilities in bridge games

A USC Aiken senior project investigates how likely ties are in bridge as hands increase from one to thirty. Dillon Gooding, mentored by Professor Thomas Reid and local player Miles Hall, uses computer simulation and data from local and regional bridge groups to model tie frequency and structure results.
