Sadr and Hakim vow end to years of Shiite rivalries
In Baghdad two top Shiite leaders Muqtada al-Sadr and Abdul-Aziz al-Hakim signed a deal to end the bitter feud that spurred clashes in Baghdad and the south. The agreement aims to protect Iraqi blood and boost cooperation between their movements. It follows Sadr’s allies leaving the United Iraqi Alliance, shrinking the bloc to 85 seats in parliament. Officials confirmed the pact but gave few details, broadcast by Al-Farat TV.

Reform efforts clash with honor crime in Kurdish regions
In Sulaimaniyah an 18 year old unborn mother faces possible honor killings if her child is born out of wedlock.
