Silent Witness ceremony honors domestic violence victims
During National Domestic Violence Awareness Month a Silent Witness service in Columbia honors 34 women and 10 men who died last year. Brandi Jor Jordan, 23, from near Aiken County, was shot by her live-in boyfriend before he killed himself on July 7, 2010. Attorney General Alan Wilson called for breaking the cycle of violence and The Cumbee Center to Assist Abused Persons provides counseling to victims and families as a bell tolls for each life lost and a silhouette for each victim is carried.
