Aiken Mayor backs extending sales tax for city projects
Mayor Fred Cavanaugh urged Rotary Club members to support the November referendum extending the 1-cent sales tax. He cited an exhaustive project list including Whiskey Road traffic improvements, north and south side connector roads, safety facilities, parks, and infrastructure. The plan seeks about 30 million for 34 capital projects across the city.
