Weakened Lili still packed punch
Tropical Storm Lili weakened after landfall at Marsh Island as a Category 2 hurricane with 100 mph winds. Along the Louisiana coast, widespread wind and flood damage left crumbling roofs, downed lines, and water-logged streets. Evacuations affected up to 900,000 people in coastal Louisiana and eastern Texas, with extensive power outages and rescue efforts by National Guard units in Montegut and Grand Isle.
