Mid-Valley Baptist Church History and Growth
Hodson recounts the church’s move from Lynwood Community Center to Burnettown Elementary School cafeteria in September 1978 and later to a new building on Aicken Augusta Highway completed in 1980. The first pastor was Rev Hoyt Murray, services in the cafeteria were hot, and the church eventually built a sanctuary by 1986 with Rev Bert Baynham leading since 1994. The church now has about 100 members and paid off the debt in September 2006, attributed to prayer and community effort.
