Two DuPont Employees Honored For Heroism
At the 32nd annual South Carolina Occupational Safety Council conference in Columbia two DuPont Company workers from the Aiken Atomic Energy Plant were honored for rescuing Betty Wilson Drew from a burning overturned station wagon on State Highway 125 near the Savannah River Plant. Security officer Pete Duke and service supervisor Joe Patterson received life saving awards for the June 12 incident. Duke and Patterson were uninjured. Bob Strength of Monsanto, Greenwood, also received the Distinguished Service Award.
