Second trial begins for Ira Einhorn in Philadelphia murder case
Former hippie guru Ira Einhorn faces opening statements in a Philadelphia courtroom for the 1977 murder of Holly Maddux. Maddux's mummified remains were found in Einhorn's West Philadelphia apartment after neighbors complained of an odor. Einhorn fled on bail, spent 20 years abroad, and was returned to the United States in 2001. He has maintained innocence and may testify as celebrities are sought as character witnesses.
