Baby Gorillas Kid Gang Terrorizes New Ellenton

A youth gang called the Baby Gorillas, ages 11 to 20, is accused of terrorizing Greendale in New Ellenton. Police report 10 to 15 members jumped a man earlier this month and many carry guns. Residents fear naming them.

Aiken Ki Mi Club Tours Rye Patch Wetlands Project

The Aiken Ki Mi Club toured the wetlands at Rye Patch on a sunny autumn day led by city horticulturist Brian Woodward. He describes the site as formerly overgrown with wisteria and underbrush and notes a major ditch carried runoff from Mead Avenue and Whiskey Road into Hitchcock Woods, bringing oil and dirt that could harm trees. Bill would push safe schools funding and one year expulsion

US Representative Butler Derrick of South Carolina backs federal aid for school security and a one year expulsion for weapon offenses on school grounds. The bill offers a $100 million grant and would cut federal funds to noncomplying schools. Aiken County Superintendent Dr. Joseph R.
