Ballot Omission Threatens Aiken County Races
George Williams and Carl Hair may not appear on the November ballot for auditor and pro bate judge after their names were not on the Democratic Party list submitted by party chair Robert E. Oswald. Election officials say candidates must be submitted by noon Sept 18 and, with the late timing, adding them is not possible. Williams calls it a typographical error. Hit-and-run injures couple in two cars on Whiskey Road
An Aiken man LeRoy Roberts and his wife were struck by a metallic blue Z 28 Camaro while driving separate cars on Whiskey Road Saturday around 6 p.m. The car allegedly crossed the center line, struck their two vehicles, then fled north. A witness described the driver as a white woman with shoulder length hair. information urged to contact the Aiken Department of Public Safety.
