Health limits Sol Blatt's next election bid
Barnwell based representative Sol Blatt 86 says only his health or that of his wife of 61 years could stop him from seeking re election. Blatt plans to return to Columbia in January to begin his 50th year as a state legislator and will undergo exams at the Medical University of South Carolina after two weeks of work. He notes doctors are hopeful and that if told he cannot physically serve he will not run again in 1982. His wife Ethel Green Blatt, 85, has been bedridden with high blood pressure and arterial hardening for five years.
