S C campus violent crime remains rare on state campuses
South Carolina college campuses reported 46 violent crimes last year, with only three schools showing a statistically significant rate. The Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston had six incidents, Lander University in Greenwood three, and South Carolina State University in Orangeburg eight, per SLED and FBI data.

Windsor Christmas Parade Delights Town Officials and Residents
Windsor held its third annual Christmas parade along Middleton Drive drawing families to see dignitaries floats motorcycles and antique cars. The Williston Elko High School Band performed while celebrities such as Miss Piggy Smoky Bear Winnie the Pooh and Batman attended. Mayor Frank Mizell praised the event and announced parade winners including a $250 prize for best float by Hillcrest Baptist.

Two Die In County Collision Near Salley
Aiken County coroner Sue Townsend says two truck drivers died in a fiery Saturday wreck on S C 389 near Salley. The remains were sent to Newberry for autopsies to establish positive identifications as investigators probe the crash. The drivers were identified as James Marion Elkins Jr 45 Bamberg and Nelson Couch 47 Ladson.

Nine Die on State Highways During Thanksgiving Holiday
The South Carolina Highway Patrol reports at least nine deaths on Thanksgiving weekend nationwide within the state. Notable incidents include a tanker truck and an 18 wheeler collision in Aiken County. Felicia Minor, 29, of Greensboro NC, died when her car left Interstate 85 near Gaffney. Joseph Tardungo, 64, of Fruitland FL, died in a two car collision on Interstate 26. Harper Davis, 68, of York SC, died after his car struck another vehicle on Highway 48 near Columbia. Horace Johnson, 38, died when his truck struck a four wheeler and a tree seven miles east of Aynor.
