State pays 487000 in Nielsen settlements
The state has paid 487000 to settle lawsuits against Education Superintendent Barbara Nielsen by former employees. Paul Rawl settled for 525000 after claiming denial of promotion due to race. a 904000 verdict was awarded but Nielsen plans to appeal.
