Aiken Jaycees to Run Christmas Shopping Tour for 80 Children

Eighty disadvantaged children in Aiken will have a merry Christmas via the Aiken County oldest fund drive. The Jaycees will escort the kids on Dec 10 to buy essentials including coats socks and underwear. Children aged 3 to 8 come from disadvantaged households and are not enrolled in other drives. Funding shortfall noted as only 300 raised so far. Each child would receive 10 to spend but the plan relies on donations. Last year 83 children participated with 83 dollars per child plus a toy from a submitted list. A Christmas party follows the tour with raffle proceeds and Willcox Inn prize donation.
