Ex-SRS worker held on charge
Richard Earl Sprohar a former Washington Savannah River Co. employee from Martinez Georgia was indicted by a federal grand jury in September on one count of embezzlement related to benefits and insurance. He failed to appear for arraignment in Columbia and a warrant was issued and executed Monday. An Energy Department specialist in Alexandria Virginia later picked him up. He allegedly received 168535.40 in federal disability benefits from 2002 to 2008 and faces up to 10 years in prison plus restitution.
