Four Thanksgiving accidents claim four lives in state

The Highway Patrol and other sources report at least four fatal crashes over the Thanksgiving weekend. William Evans, 28, of Newton died on State Highway 44 in Williamsburg County. Johnny C. Russell Jr., 49, of Inman died when his car struck a van on a Spartanburg County road. Stephanie Abney, 12, of Monetta was a passenger in a car that hit a tree on State Highway 241 in Aiken County. Russell C. Prickett Jr., 17, of Port Royal was a passenger when a vehicle ran off River Road near Yebmasee.

Teen Dies From Too Much Elixir And Pills

Mount Pleasant police found 15 year old Thomas Hans Jr. dead in a ditch after an apparent attempt to get high on over the counter medicines. Chief deputy coroner Stan Reeves said drowning is likely and toxicology results are pending. Investigators note Hans and two other youths were at a Mount Pleasant home Wednesday night seeking a high from Dramamine and cough syrup.
