Mammoth Hog Killed in Aiken County Nets 738 Pound Carcass
Captain Marion Bell of the county works killed a mammoth hog weighing 738 pounds net last Saturday. The carcass was weighed by Chas. J. Hill, chairman of the county commission. The hog is said to be the largest killed in Aiken County for years, yielding 275 pounds of lard.

Duchess La Torlonia Sues for Divorce in Bridgeport
The Duchess La Torlonia, a well known winter resident, seeks divorce from the Italian duke. The case will be heard in Bridgeport, Conn., today. She previously leased Periwinkle cottage and this winter occupies Prickly Pear cottage on the Hitchcock estate. Prior to marriage she was Miss Elsie Moore of New York and Greenwich, married in 1907. Mrs. Herbert E. Gyles has been notified by the South Carolina highway commission that the bridge spanning the Savannah River at Hamburg is officially named The Jefferson Davis Memorial Bridge. The Edward Croft chapter U D C suggested the name months ago and Mrs. Gyles supported honoring the first and only president of the Confederate States.

Settlement in Tarrant case ends suit over 32909 damages
In Common Pleas court, Robert G. Tarrant of Aiken and the Southern Railway settled the personal injury suit for 32909 after Tarrant was injured August 10, 1924, when his automobile was struck at Sulphur Springs crossing North Carolina. The plaintiff cited warehouse billboards and a cornfield blocking view. Attorneys Henderson Salley for the railroad and Williams Croft Hushee for the defendant.
