Aiken High to start robotics club tied to Jabberwock face

Aiken High plans a FIRST Robotics Club guided by Pat O Neill with SRS engineers Clyde Ward and Steve Tibrea for a January start. The program aims to engage students in math science and technology while building a robot for a regional competition at a cost near 15000 dollars. The effort already involves about 20 students 11 parents four engineers and six teachers with broader roles for welding machine work and press release writing.

Clemson Fans Injured After Goal Post Rush

After Clemson’s 27 20 victory over South Carolina fans rushed the field and toppled a goal post injuring several people including Anderson County reserve deputy Homer Booth who suffered a broken collarbone and ribs. Sheriff Gene Taylor called the incident foolish and irresponsible and said officers will not work Clemson games off duty until university policy changes.

Valley Empty Stocking Fund Seeks Aid Applications

The Valley Empty Stocking Fund enters its 30th annual drive to aid needy families from Vaucluse to Storm Branch.
