Husband and wife drawn to Aiken's equine charm
Locust Grove Landscape Garden Design owner R. Lewis Vannote and Avoca Equine LLC's Keel in Redmond DVM moved to Aiken drawn by the area's equestrian culture. They married Aug. 30 at Hermitage Farm in Pennsylvania and bring diversified livestock, landscape and veterinary services, including mobile care and chiropractic work, to the racing community. They have a background with Camden and Unionville connections, and both express enthusiasm for Aiken's cosmopolitan feel and race circuit. The couple operates amid ties to Thoroughbreds and racing history, with Vannote noting his grandfather trained famed horses.
