Dancing with the Aiken Stars ends on high note
The fourth and final Dancing with the Aiken Stars at USC Aiken Convocation Center drew eleven acts six groups to raise funds for the Child Advocacy Center of Aiken County and the Community Medical Center. Bet ryberg and Tom Williams hosted. Beep Beep Beep Beep pair Kathy Huff and Charlie Hansen earned the most votes while Beauty and the Beat won the top group award. The judges selected Hinks and Hairspray for Judges’ Choice and Will Williams Kim Williams of the Futastics won Light of the Night as the people’s choice. The event marked the community’s strong support for local charities and featured routines to I Will Survive Copacabana and I Need Love.

St Johns Medal Wins Aiken Historic Medallion Honor
St Johns Methodist Church won the 2013 Aiken Historic Medallion from the Aiken Downtown Development Association after nearly 200 submissions. Trustees Donna Seymour Lennie Sanford and Tom Brown received the newest medallion credits, with history noting Methodist circuit riders in 1825 and the sanctuary's evolution from a log cabin to the current church since 1965.
