The Free Medical Clinic reopens as Community Medical Clinic of Aiken County at 244 Greenville St. in a new facility on Greenville Street. Carson Sublett presided over the ceremony with board members and staff as the clinic expands to serve about 14 000 uninsured residents ages 19 to 64 below 160 percent of poverty guidelines.

Thanksgiving meal for veterans at VFW Post 10601 in Aiken
Greater Aiken VFW Post 10601 hosts a free Thanksgiving meal for veterans and their immediate families at 4 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. Veterans without company are urged to call 649-5781 between 4 and 9 p.m. by Sunday. The Blessing of the Hounds is set for 11 a.m. Thursday at Memorial Gate in Hitchcock Woods with rain plans through Hitchcock Woods Foundation or Aiken Hounds.
