Gem and Mineral Show Announced by Columbia Society
The Columbia Gem and Mineral Society schedules its 37th Annual Gem Mineral and Jewelry Show at the South Carolina Fairgrounds. Dates are Friday November 26 to Sunday November 28 with hours and admission set. Also listed is a Class of 1994 reunion for Aiken High School on November 26 at the Aiken Municipal Building with ticket options and reservations.

Midland Valley High School Hosts Eighth Ring Ceremony
Midland Valley High School held its 18th annual ring ceremony in the auditorium. A large replica ring allowed students to pass through and receive rings from family members. The event draws nearly five hundred participants and drew praise from students like Shana Stevens. Jostens features Midland Valley's ceremony in promotions with other schools.

Robert L Shaw Named Senior Environmental Consultant at MACTEC
MACTEC Engineering and Consulting promotes Robert Lewis Shaw to senior environmental consultant based in Columbia. Bruce C Coles MACTEC president and MACTEC Inc chairman announced the move. Shaw will work with state and federal agencies across the Southeast on environmental projects. He previously led his own firm and spent 20 years as deputy EQC commissioner for South Carolina DHEC. He is a registered professional engineer with degrees from the University of South Carolina and Clemson University.
