Two Cats Collide in Lake Wylie Bass Tournament Injures Man

John Mead, 23, was seriously hurt when his boat collided with Vernon Jackson in Blacksburg during a weekend bass fishing tournament on Lake Wylie. Mead suffered a collapsed lung and a broken arm. Jackson was not injured and helped carry Mead to shore.

Former Deputy Sues Laurens Sheriff Over Retaliation Claim

A former Laurens County deputy sues the county and Sheriff Jim Moore claiming retaliation after his wife alleged sexual harassment by another deputy at a holiday party. The suit says after dismissal of the wife's case in 1994, he was demoted from deputy to jailer.

Four Die In South Carolina Weekend Highway Crashes

Four people are reported dead in South Carolina traffic crashes this weekend. Stanley D. Moore 15 of Lan drum died when his car overturned Friday in Greenville County. Benjamin D. Morris Jr. 19 of Fountain Inn died Friday night after his car struck an embankment in Laurens County. Stephen Ridgeway 21 of Ladson and Troy Baker 21 originally from Sidney Ohio were killed Saturday when their motorcycle hit a van.
