North Augusta approves Project Jackson plan 6-1

Map of America takes shape on school playground
Jefferson Elementary School students will explore all fifty states on a chalk and paint map laid out on the basketball court at Jefferson Elementary. Aiken Rotary Club and Aiken High School Interact Club joined teachers to sketch state boundaries in about three hours with supplies funded by a Rotary grant. Principal Becky Wilson and Superintendent Dr. Beth Everitt praised the outreach, noting high school students working with elementary staff to enrich education and community ties.
