Local kids among artwork contest winners
Thirteen winners are named in the Governor's 2003 Kids Safe Calendar art contest with three Aiken County elementary students among them Cody lary of Byrd Elementary Eboni Smith of Gloverville Elementary and Taylor Stacey of Hammond Hill Elementary Also highlighted are soil evaluation results from Wagener Salley High and top placers in FFA Soils contests plus awards for North Aiken Elementary and Hammond Hill teachers and students Local donors include Kimberly Clark Foundation and Kroger with additional honors at Clemson University and district pageants.

Governor Hodges Eyes New Path After Term Ends

Escapees linked to abducting woman in cross-country spree

Spartanburg officer charged with aggravated assault
Spartanburg Public Safety officer Patricia Ann Moss faces an aggravated assault charge for a July arrest in which she allegedly choked a restrained victim. Moss, fired in August after a complaint, is under SLED investigation with case proceeding toward trial.

DUI suspected in Upstate fatalities claims source
Selton Anderson man Joseph Lyerly 24 died after a pickup left the road struck a tree and Megan Christtine 12 of Belton died at the scene. Two others were injured and authorities said DUI is suspected.
