Protesting Guardsman Left Behind in Deploy to Saudi Arabia
Sgt. Michael R. Ange, 26, National Guard, remained at Fort Lee Virginia after a federal judge blocked his bid for a temporary restraining order to halt deployment to the Persian Gulf. Ange cites medical issues and argues Bush lacked congressional authority to send troops. His unit, the 24th Transport Company, was deployed Wednesday. Ange remains at Fort Lee for medical tests and possible discharge proceedings per base spokesman Joy Whitmore.
