Docking with Skylab is planned later today as mission control follows the 17 400 mile per hour chase.
At Everybody's Cafe in Aiken County a 50 year old man, Jeff Harrison, was killed and Bernice Williams was seriously wounded after an early morning altercation. The incident occurred around 1 a.m., and the investigation is ongoing with investigators Bowe, Boyd, and Weathersbee on the case.
President Nixon signed the Alaska oil pipeline bill enabling a 789 mile project from the Arctic to begin next year. The $4.5 billion plan aims for 600 000 barrels per day initially, rising to 2 million later, potentially covering about 82 of U.S. petroleum use. Nixon noted some veto risks and promised to seek repeal of broadened regulatory powers.
