North Augusta Belvedere Radio Club hosts ARES meeting at hospital
The North Augusta Belvedere Radio Club affiliated with the ARRL meets at Aiken Regional Medical Centers on the third Monday at 6 pm for Amateur Radio Emergency Service training. Led by Kevin Kingery, the group covers radio operation, drills, and emergency readiness. The Ai ken County Go Kit exhibition featured show and tell demos judged by Paul Matthews and Kingery. Darby Wills won first place for his Go Kit entry.

Truck overturn on US 25 spills fuel. driver charged
A tractor-trailer carrying 8,200 gallons overturned on U S 25 near I 520 in North Augusta just after 11 am. The driver was transported with non life threatening injuries and later charged with driving too fast for conditions. Cleanup lasted about 9.5 hours with additional leaks found during draining. Agencies involved include North Augusta Public Safety Belvedere Fire Department S C Highway Patrol State Transport Police and DHEC.
